Holiday Fun

Lighting the Menorah in costumes created by the boys.

Darth Vader and Star Trooper costumes from Lala.
Tio gave the boys an "awesome" race track
Alexander's marble run from Santa

Spiderman and Lighting McQueen!

Money from Nana for Hanukkah!

Decorating cookies from Aunt Shirley
Alexander made his own Menorah

We have had such a great holiday break.  It is so fun to celebrate Hanukkah and Christmas, it seems like everyday has been a party.  We have decorated cookies, played games, opened presents, played with our favorite friends.
Santa visited and left his had prints in our chimney again.  He really loved the carrots and apple juice Alexander left out for him.  Alex thought that Santa would be full of cookies and would need some "healthy" food for his muscles.  Mema had a sleep over on Christmas eve and the boys woke her up by imitating her loud whistle.  (They use a high pitch squeal that is more cute and funny than anything.)  We are so lucky to have her close to us.
We missed our Nana and Poppie, but we thought of them all the time.  They sent the best presents.  Jaxon kept asking if Poppie was going to come down the chimney with Santa.  Maybe next year, right Poppie?
Tio brought the boys an awesome race track that they loved.  They really enjoyed playing with him too.
Lala came over to bring the boys Star Wars costumes but the boys were most excited just to play with her.  We love her so much.  She even made me cry with excitement over the gift she gave to Jason and me.  Thanks a bunch Lala.
We love our family and friends and hope that everyone had a wonderful holiday.  We are so blessed to have such a wonderful and healthy family.  We look forward to the New Year!

Hanukkah Party at Alex's school

Alexander had a Hanukkah party in his class at school.  The children sang songs for the parents, played games and had delicious treats.  Alexander decorated a plate and wrapped it with paper he made himself.  It was such a fun surprise.  We love his school, class, teachers and friends.

Tattoos

Jaxon received batman tattoos from his friend Kolton this year for Christmas.  He had to put all of them on at once.  He did share 2 of the 12 with Alexander.   I am hoping he gets his feel of tattoos before he is 3 so he won't want them when he is 16.  (I can dream, right?)

Alexander's First Hanukkah

I was looking at old pictures at my mom's house and came across these two pictures of Alexander's first Hanukkah.  I thought they would be fitting to post because Hanukkah started last night. It is also turing out to be Alexander's favorite holiday.  Whenever anyone tells him "Merry Christmas" his reply is always "Hanukkah is first, then it is Christmas."

Gingerbread Houses

Yesterday we made "gingerbread houses" they were actually graham cracker houses but they turned out very cute. Alexander and Jaxon put on their aprons and went to work. They were so excited to construct their yummy homes. They both did a great job. It was such a fun family activity. The boys can't wait for the real Santa to see their houses when he comes down the chimney. I am pretty sure he will love them.

Juicing for big muscles

This morning I found Alexander watching an infomercial about juicing. It was the one with Jack LaLanne. He is very impressive, at 92 he still looks amazing. Alexander was very intrigued and after watching for about 20 minutes without letting me turn the channel, he was convinced he need a juicer too. "Mom, we have to get one of these so we can get big muscles."
It was Dad to the rescue, when he told Alexander we already have a juicer. Jason and Alexander had to immediately pull it out and start juicing everything they could find. Lemons, oranges, cucumbers, cantaloupe and mixed berries were in their first concoction. It was delicious and very healthy.
I am so proud of my little health nut, he even finished his entire juice. Watch out Jack LaLanne, Alexander Dayne is ready to take over for you!

Picture with Santa

This past weekend I took the boys to the Festival of Trees.  They were very excited to see the "real' Santa.  Luckily, it was the first day in weeks Jaxon decided to wear something non-super hero.  They both loved sitting on Santa's lap.  Alexander threw the poor guy for a loop when he asked if they were excited for Christmas and he replied, "No, first I am excited for Hanukkah!"

Happy Thanksgiving

This year we had a wonderful Thanksgiving at our home.  Jason and I prepared the dinner with a lot of help from Alexander.  The food was delicious.  Alexander's favorite part of the meal was the big turkey leg.  Mema and Tio both joined us for our feast, it was great having them both with us.  Jaxon loved having his Tio read to him.  It was a very relaxing and enjoyable day.  Alexander and Jaxon both wished their Nana and Poppie could have been here too, but look forward to spending Christmas with them.

Mr. Personality

Jaxon loves dressing himself and posing for the camera.  I thought I would post some of the latest and greatest.   He loves surf shorts all year long and thinks they go nicely with his "police" shirt.  The Christmas p.j.'s pair perfectly with a green super-mask.  And yes, he did paint his own fingernails with white-out from his Mema's office.

Alexander's self style

The other day Jason was shaving his beard down with the clippers.  Alexander was watching and wanted to "help".  He asked if he could turn the clippers off.  Jason agreed, handed over the clippers and turned away.  Alexander thought he would give himself a little shave before actually turning the clippers off.  He now has a really cute circle shaved in the top of his head.
Way to go Dad, super smart move!
Oh well, he is still the cutest 4 year old in the world.
