Happy Fathers Day

This past Sunday was Father's Day.  I feel like the luckiest woman alive to have the such an amazing man as the Father of my children.  Jason is the best Dad ever!

Alexander, Jaxon and I have compiled a list of reasons why he is the most wonderful, loving, funny, fabulous, perfect Dad.

-He is great at telling stories.

-He is super at building train tracks.

-He is very strong and has big muscles.

-He is so funny, he sings very funny songs.

-Daddy makes the best steak, and protein shakes.

-He is the smartest person we know.

-He teaches us lots of big words.  For example, reciprocity is a word we use often.

-He is honest (that means he tells the truth)

-He is very brave.

-He is very loving and kind.

-He know how to use the weed whacker.  

-Daddy is fun to play with.

-He is good at squirt gun fights.

-Daddy is the best at throwing the football.

-He is really great at jump roping.

-He likes mac and cheese just as much as we do , and even with the soy sauce. (thanks Alexander)

-He takes us to Hires, the train place and anywhere else we love.

-He always remembers to get us a Power Rangers movie from the video store.

-He is a little silly.

-He is very good at tackle, tickling and playing power rangers.

-He is awesome at ball fights.

-Daddy is who we want when we are tired or hurt.  

Basically, Jason is the world's best Father.  We are all so lucky to have him.  Happy Father's Day Daddy!

Just another day in paradise.

Jason and I are blessed with a wonderful marriage and two of the most amazing boys. These pictures were taken after soccer practice this past Saturday. We always have such a great time when we are all together. The only thing that matters in life is those you love. We are really blessed to have wonderful parents, great families, awesome friends and each other.

Jaxon's Legwarmers

My little Jaxon is very athletic. Crawling by 4 months and walking at 9 months. After that he started running and jumping everywhere. It is not often we see him walking, he just runs. If there is anything around to jump off, Jaxon will be there.
Although his physical prowess is very impressive, it comes with a price. Every so often, Jaxon suffers from leg pains at night. They are so bad they wake him screaming and crying. The only thing that seems to work is a heating pad and massage. The doctor said it is normal due to his activity level. (I also suffered with leg pains growing up.)
My mother suggested putting leg warmers on him when he runs around at night to keep his legs warm. I hate to see him in pain and am willing to try anything. So a couple of nights ago we cut the toes out of some socks and presto, leg warmers! I did make them masculine by drawing a batman on each one. He loved them and has worn them for 3 days straight. So far, he has had no leg pains.
Batman had to have matching big boy under pants. I am hoping he potty trains as fast as he walked. Go batman!

Thomas the Train

Over memorial day weekend Jason and I took the boys to see "the real" Thomas. I won 4 tickets online, and at $20 a ticket it was a great savings. The weather was cloudy and cold, but that didn't stop us from having a great time. The boys were so excited to see the trains. After the train ride, both boys picked out tattoos. Alexander picked out the blue Thomas and Jaxon chose the red James.
The next stop was lunch at a cute place in town (Heber) that had trains driving around the ceiling, a train table, and conductor hats for the boys. We had such a great time. The boys keep telling us they want to go back. Lucky for all the parents the "real" Thomas only comes once a year. See you next year Thomas!

Meet SkyRocket

Today Alexander and I planted our first tree together. It is a Juniper Skyrocket, Alex calls him Skyrocket. We had such a great time picking out and planting the tree. Alexander talked to Skyrocket the entire way home from the nursery. "How are you doing my friend?", "This is our street, my friend.", "I will give you lots of water, my friend." "Mom, I think I will hug Skyrocket after I plant him in the soil, is that okay?"
After we planted Skyrocket, Alexander wanted to write his name on the concrete next to the tree so everyone would know the tree's name.
It was a fun experience for all of us, including little Skyrocket.

The Dentist

Yesterday, Alexander and Jaxon went to see Dr. Bekker, their dentist. They were both such good boys, the entire staff was amazed at how well they did. They both held still and opened very wide. Their brushing and flossing paid off, neither one had cavities.
The hardest part of the visit was for me. I am not talking about the bill, although that was not the highlight. The tough part for me was seeing Alexander's x-ray. The dentist brought it out to me so I could see his "grown-up" teeth coming up. He is only 3!!! I can't believe I have to hear and see his grown up teeth. I think the dentist could tell I am not ready for my first baby to be getting older. He reassured me that it will still take those grown up teeth a few years to come up. It was a nice try to make me feel better and a good reminder to cherish every day with those baby teeth. I love to see those boys smile and I love all of their baby teeth. Yes, I can wait to see the grown up ones!

Picnic in the mountains

We took our first picnic of the season. We went up emigration canyon and it was beautiful. We met up with Kathryn, Kayvon and baby Stockton.
We had a great time, talking, walking and eating. The boys loved the watermelon and the vegetables with dip. Jaxon still hasn't learned it is not polite to double dip. Baby Stockton was digging the cantaloupe. The watermelon was also a hit! Jason carved it up with a pocket knife. I love how handy, my big strong husband can be.
Jason took the boys and the dogs on a nature hike, they love a good adventure. They found some great big sticks. It is amazing what boys find amusing. I love being outside and look forward to many more picnics with our family and friends.
